I wish life was spiral bound
Fat and cheerful
Turn it to whichever point
Scribble a note here and there
Mark it with dog-ears
Throw it in a corner
To be picked up later.
Read it on a rainy day
With a cup of coffee
And home-made cookies
Critique and discuss, in earnest
A sincere intellectual pursuit
Derive a meaning, celebrate it
Even idolize it.
But I know
It is none of all this
Only a few lines stapled
Sometimes orders mixed
Wrongly arranged, crooked
Without thought and care
In the end, full of Yellow pages.
