A long poem

At Grenoble in the year 1994.
Why did you come empty handed
When you hold the world within, why
I promised to abide by the rules set, yet
By you and me, yet
Why did you come empty handed, why;
You blessed the child, you blessed the young
You blessed when they cried and when they went
You blessed the world and those who did not come,
An abandoned cactus grew where roses could
It was a barren home as you left
I promised to make a garden, yet
For you and me, yet
Why did you not let, why?
A child lay dead, yet
A life sublimed with sadness, I remember
The goodness when you could not be heard,
Continuous crowing, a single koel cooing
Parrots flying low with tails wide spread
I did not speak, you too did not
Why did you come then, why did you
Why?
