There is much on the other side

                                At Rama Paduka shrine, Rameswaram, September 2014.

Let the silence rise, now, before me
Like the sudden rain wash away the uncertainties,
Like the death that nullifies, let the nothingness rise
And as it pours more, let the time stand still;

And let the sound of trickling water
Bring back all, one by one, clear as crystal,
And when I lie cold, as the clouds drift
Wrapping the glorious sun into folds of darkness;

Like an epidemic that matters little
To the lives that do not hope, of day and night,
You say so, stand on the right, and I let
There is much on the other side.
