The colorless sea

                                                                        Oil pastel by Akash

The Sankey tank brimmed with happiness
Every time it was cleaned
There was a new shine
On the Red lotus and Blue lilies
The ducks were the most cheerful lot
Not sure if to hide or to swim.

The mornings and evenings were a fest
When walkers and joggers swarmed the place
With ears tuned to personal music
Lovely colors floated here and there
The balloons, fruits, health drinks and what not
All that extending one’s life could ask.

The river wondered
How much more it must flow
On the unknown terrain
Through the difficult forests
And for how long it must hide
The unholy and the wild.

The charm of adventure
Gave it a new sheen
But sometimes when I sat
On the nearby plateau
The flow seemed
A little tired and slow.

The sea knew that it must wait
For the right weather
When the tourists come from world over
For he alone possessed
That glorious sunrise
And the wonder sunset.

But with all its wisdom and depth
It remained lonely and colorless.
