A glass lift glows
As it goes
Down the twenty-five floors
To an Italian restaurant
Where a French dinner is served.
High rises of Singapore
Blink at the back
While the aura grows
Around the Nobel Laureates
And the time flows.
The conversations proceed
Ever so normally
With Deans and Presidents
And the Heads of States
Conduct their usual best.
The chefs, waiters and waitresses
Cheerful, courteous and efficient
All add to the ambiance
As passions cross the boundaries
While work and science
become a way of life.
