The Performers

The stage is set
And the performers ready,
The audience-
Yet to put their act together.

The music is melodious, as ever,
And the dresses their usual bright,
The story too is familiar-
Ordinary people doing ordinary things.

The questions remain,
Must we do what we know?
Must we see all that glows?
Must we feel what we must.

And so,
The judgment hangs,
When the curtains drop,
And the act is not yet over.
